Moving with the Change

We are hosting a movement session for women who are approaching, in the heart of or moving through the menopausal gateway… Together we will create a space where the invitation is to land in our bodies and listen to ourselves in a guided dance and movement journey with great music!

The sessions are for anyone wanting to move their body, express themselves to music, get in touch with how they are feeling and have some fun. It’s for your own free movement, your own dance and this could look like absolutely anything!

The beginning and the end of the session will be led, with exercises like shaking, joint mobilisation, stretching, grounding, flowing and slowing down. The middle section is open and free for your own exploration, you can move, lie down, stretch or do whatever you feel you need. If you get stuck we can help you find your way into relationship with yourself, if stuff comes up we can support you.

Your hosts for these sessions are Sarah Hall, a movement and shiatsu practitioner with over 20 years of experience in movement and bodywork, and Lucy Branston, an energy coach and family constellations facilitator. Together we bring a love for dancing and music and a wide range of embodiment practices to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Each session will last for 2 hours, with 1.5 hours open for movement. The sessions will take place on Thursday the 22nd and Thursday the 29th of June from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Chapter Arts Centre.

The cost is £10, and if you have a yoga mat, please bring it along. Don’t worry if you don’t have one, as we will have some available. We also recommend bringing a blanket and water.

These sessions are our first ones and we really welcome your feedback and ideas on how we can improve and shape future sessions. Our intention is to offer this space regularly as an open session or as a series of closed sessions.

We look forward to sharing this movement journey with you!

If you’re interested in coming along, please get in touch and let us know which date/s you would like to come and join us.

Running !

Just been on my 3rd run since 2020, and it’s feeling so good! ..after a period of prolonged stress, major life changes followed by adrenal fatigue, menopause , Covid, depression and being the middle aged age I am , I really thought I was done running..didn’t have the energy anymore..BUT after a couple of years of yoga, sleeping, reflecting and healing, conserving and building my ki up again I actually had the urge to get out there, get out of breath and move my lung energy again. I am so delighted and as I was running this morning I was reflecting on how my experience and knowledge of Shiatsu helped me understand what was going on for me,( sometimes retrospectively), even in the times I didn’t understand and felt hopeless with no energy at all my understanding of ki and its cycles explained in 5 element theory and TCM held my experience and helped me to stay with myself and what I knew I needed to do .My training and the healing I received helped me trust my instincts and my process even when I felt lost, scared and confused. Building myself back up has been a long road and it continues but this feels like a breakthrough moment that I wanted to share and say if you want to find out more about Shiatsu and how it works and how it can help us understand and look after ourselves you can try a session or join my foundation course to go deeper into it .
